“Megami Tensei I・II REARRANGE ROUGH ARRANGE Ver. (Soundtrack)”,
featuring newly reconstructed arrangements of music from the Family Computer titles
Digital Devil Story: Megami Tensei (released in 1987) and
Digital Devil Story: Megami Tensei II (released in 1990),
are now digitally availabel worldwide.
Both albums are curated and re-arranged by Tsukasa Masuko, the original composer of Megami Tensei I & II.
“Megami Tensei I・II REARRANGE (Soundtrack)” presents newly arranged versions of select tracks performed by a group of accomplished musicians.
The album reinterprets the dark and solemn atmosphere of the original compositions with a modern, powerful, and richly layered sound, while preserving the distinctive identity of the source material.
“Megami Tensei I・II REARRANGE ROUGH ARRANGE Ver. (Soundtrack)” contains instrumental rough arrangement tracks created solely by Tsukasa Masuko himself.
This version allows listeners to experience the structure, worldview, and compositional vision of the music in a more direct and unfiltered form, offering valuable insight into the composer’s original concepts.
Notably, the death voice heard in the track “Battlefield” is performed by Masuko himself.
Through these two albums—one featuring full-scale rearrangements performed by multiple musicians, and the other presenting the composer’s own rough arrangements—listeners are invited to rediscover the enduring musical depth and atmosphere of Megami Tensei I & II.
